What service do you provide with your rental plans?
- All our plans include free shipping both ways. We use Media Mail with the USPS.
- We have no due dates, and no late fees, you can keep the books as long as you like.
- There is no long-term commitment. You can cancel or pause your subscription any time.
- All plans are a flat fee, no hidden costs.
What if I sign up and then want more or less books?
You can up- or downgrade to another plan anytime. Just drop us a line.
Do I pay every month?
Our Basic Plan, Standard Plane and Unlimited plan are subscriptions plans, which means you pay continuously for every month, as long as you have books and/or are receiving books.
With the One-Time Special you pay once at the sign-up. If you fail to return the books within 90 days, you will pay a monthly fee of $28 after that.
What if we travel for a longer time? Do we still need to pay?
If you are going on a longer vacation or want a break, you can pause your subscription any time. Just send us an email with the dates and make sure to return the books before you leave. We can time it so new books will arrive once you return.
How do I cancel?
Simply drop us an email and return the books.
I have more than one child, can I use one plan for all children?
Of course. Let us know age and interests of your children - and how many books for each kid you would like. Or if you prefer books that you can read aloud to all of them.
My child reads above his grade level - do you have books for older children?
We offer books for children up to about 10 years, however of very different language levels. If your child is a great reader in German and his teacher encourages her or him to read more challenging books, let us know. We have challenging books for avid readers at all age groups.
If on the other hand your child has only little exposure to German, we are happy to pick easier books that are still interesting for his or her age.
Can I choose the books myself?
At the moment we are happy to choose books for you based on the ages and interests of your child. Your child is into dinosaurs this month? Into space next month? Or maybe you are raising your children according to Montessori guidelines and don't want any fairy tales and animal characters? Just let us know and we are happy to adjust.
You can also add books to your wish list. Pick the categories you are interested in and browse the books and add them. If you see any books on our Facebook or Instagram pages you would like to receive, let us know by email or via comment. Particularly with the slightly older kids, we highly recommend you pick (or better: let your child pick) at least some of the books we send.
Can I keep the books?
If you or your child have a hard time parting with a book, contact us. You can purchase all books from us and we are happy to let you know our price, depending on the market price and the usage of the book.
We already have many children's books at home. Do you have a good choice of books for us?
We currently have over 1 500 titles and our collection keeps growing every month. Among the books are classics, new releases, bestsellers as well as not so well known, but tried and proven books on a wide range of subjects - fiction and non-fiction. Some are brand new, some out of print favorites. Don't see the topic your kid is into? Let us know. We are always open to suggestions.
Do you have a gift certificate? Can I give KinderBooks as a gift?

I work for a daycare/school/ library and would like to sign up. Is your service for families only?
We are happy to serve schools and organizations throughout the country.

When will I get my books?
Orders are generally processed Monday - Friday. Please allow 1-2 business days for your order to be processed. We ship all books with Media Mail of the United Postal service. Depending on where you live, the delivery will take between 2-10 days.
I lost the return envelope. What should I do?
Please send us an email. We are happy to resend you per email a return label with postage. We only ask you to use your own mailer or packaging.
My child damaged a book. What should I do?
Contact us and return the book. We will be in touch. Generally we charge $15 for a book that has been damaged for then the average tear and wear, but we always try to fix it if possible.
How do I change my shipping address?
Please let us know the new address via email.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards.
All payments are processed via Stripe/ Zoho software to secure safe payments.
